Job Description: Lead Instructor & Venue Maintenance Lead Overview

Key Responsibilities

1. Taekwondo Instruction, Program Design, and Member Engagement
- Implement and deliver Taekwondo-specific training regimes tailored to the needs and skill levels of Taekwondo members.
- Teach Taekwondo classes in accordance with the timetable, ensuring a high standard of instruction.
- Demonstrate martial arts techniques to members and provide constructive feedback to support their progression.
- Facilitate reporting on member numbers, sign-ups, and inquiries through the CRM system.
- Address member inquiries and feedback in a professional and timely manner.

2. Facility Maintenance and Safety
- Ensure the premises remain functional, hazard-free, and meet the standards expected of professional martial arts facilities.
- Conduct regular inspections of equipment to ensure it is in sound working order.
- Maintain the cleanliness and hygiene of the venue, ensuring all areas are tidy and well-organised.
- Identify and address any maintenance issues promptly to minimise disruptions to classes.

3. Stock Management and Sales
- Maintain stock control to ensure members have access to necessary equipment, uniforms, and other supplies.
- Manage the sale of services and products to members, including class packages, merchandise, and equipment.

4. Program Development and Marketing
- Collaborate closely with the proprietor to develop new programs and initiatives that enhance member engagement and satisfaction.
- Assist in creating and implementing marketing and promotional strategies to attract new members and retain existing ones.

5. Stakeholder Engagement
- Build and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders to foster goodwill and collaboration.
- Engage with the community to promote and drive membership growth.

6. Staff Oversight and Mentoring
- Oversee the delivery of the class timetable, ensuring that all scheduled services are covered by qualified staff.
- Supervise and mentor lower-level instructors, providing guidance on lesson planning and instructional techniques.
- Ensure support staff are equipped to deliver programs effectively and uphold standards

7. General Duties
- Perform any other reasonable tasks as requested by the business proprietor to support the smooth operation.

Qualifications and Skills
- Extensive experience in Taekwondo, holding at least a 3rd Dan black belt certification.
- Proven instructional experience, with a focus on delivering high-quality martial arts classes.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage and mentor a team of instructors and support staff.
- Competence in managing facility maintenance and ensuring safety standards are met.
- Proficiency with business CRM systems, social media, and basic financial reporting.
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach to problem-solving.

Reporting Structure

The Lead Instructor & Venue Maintenance Manager reports directly to the proprietor. Regular performance reviews will be conducted to ensure alignment with business goals and objectives.

Pay: $40,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year

Expected hours: 30 per week

Schedule:

- Evening shift
- Morning shift
- Weekend availability

Supplementary Pay:

- Performance bonus
