The Catering Team Leader manages, organises and oversees the preparation of food, serving of food and provides quality customer service. Attention to maintaining a clean, safe, hygienic and healthy work environment is critical.

Time & Roster Commitment

The role would be for Friday (9am - 2:30pm) every week and once a month on Sunday.

There will possible be a need for one other day (Wednesday).

Main Duties
- Lead the Mission Volunteer Food Services team to meet daily outcomes
- Meals delivered within the directed timeframe and appropriate customer service delivery
- Clean and hygienic kitchen and surroundings in keeping with health regulations
- Provide encouragement to team members, including communicating team goals and identifying areas for new training or skill checks
- Create an inspiring team environment with an open communication culture.
- Set clear team goals, communicate with teams about their performance.
- Delegate tasks and set deadlines.
- Discover training needs and provide coaching.
- Listen to team members' feedback and resolve any issues or conflicts.
- Recognise high performance and reward accomplishments.
- Plan and organise team building activities.
- Engage with and actively support the welfare of the Team you lead.

Qualifications and Experience Requirements for the Position
- Relevant qualifications as required ie Food Handling Certificate.
- Experience in administration, use of Microsoft Word and Excel and customer service preferred.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.

Mandatory Requirements of the Position
- Complete The Salvation Army (TSA) Mission Volunteer registration, induction and training - TSA is a ChildSafe workplace.
- Integrity checks as required for the role.
