Metal Fabricator

Tovo Lighting is a boutique lighting manufacturer based in Brookvale on the Northern Beaches; we are looking to recruit a new person to join our team and work full-time.

**THE ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES**

As a Metal Fabricator, you will be responsible for interpreting technical drawings, assembling and welding metal components, and ensuring high-quality fabrication of structures and equipment. You will work both independently and within a team to meet project deadlines and maintain workshop safety and productivity standards.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
- Selecting, cleaning, and preparing metal stock for fabrication.
- Cutting marked-out metal sections and shapes using hand tools, flame cutting torches and metal cutting machines.
- Shaping and bending metal sections and pipes using hand and machine tools, and by heating and hammering.
- Aligning parts to be joined using hand tools and measuring instruments.
- Joining metal sections using various welding techniques, bolting and riveting.
- Examining welds for width of bead, penetration and precision.
- Finishing products by cleaning, polishing and filing.
- Cleaning and smoothing welds by filing, chiselling, and grinding.
- Conduct quality checks to ensure finished products meet required specifications.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment, adhering to WHS (Work Health and Safety) standards.
- Collaborate with supervisors to meet production targets.

**SKILLS & EXPERIENCE**

Qualifications:
Certificate III in Engineering - Fabrication Trade or equivalent.

**Experience**:
Minimum 1-year full time experience working as a Metal Fabricator or close.

**Skills**:

- Proficient in MIG, TIG, and/or arc welding.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Skilled in the use of hand and power tools.
- Strong understanding of metal types, fabrication techniques, and material behaviour.
- Good problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Ability to work autonomously and within a team environment.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills to work collaboratively in a workshop environment.
- Strong analytical skills to identify issues and implement effective solutions.
- Commitment to safety protocols and high-quality work standards.

**PERFORMANCE GOALS**:

- Consistently meet or exceed production and quality targets as set by the General Manager.
- Complete fabrication tasks accurately and within assigned deadlines.
- Maintain high standards of workplace safety, cleanliness, and organisation.
- Continuously develop technical skills and knowledge of fabrication techniques.
- Actively contribute to team morale, communication, and problem resolution within the workshop.

Pay: $76,515.00 - $80,000.00 per year

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
