Stake is looking for a Regulatory Affairs Officer to join our team at our HQ in Bondi Junction with a flexible hybrid working model. Stake is more than a brokerage, we're one global brand that stands for progress. This is true for our customers but also for our team members.
Stake is a digital brokerage offering seamless access to invest in shares. It is an exciting working environment where everyone is challenged to deliver high-quality execution. It's collaborative and high energy. It's a supportive environment where people are encouraged to take ownership and try things, even if they may fail. Our internal mantra is ‘never settle' and we all share an ambition to do whatever it takes to grow this business forward. We are growing quickly and have expanded outside of Australia to New Zealand, United Kingdom and Brazil. This is your opportunity to join a global brand rocketing forward and a team hungry to shake up a category.
**About this role**
We are looking for a Regulatory Affairs Officer to further strengthen our regulatory footprint and engagement with the regulators and policy development. Reporting to the Head of Legal, Risk & Compliance, you will be responsible for:
- Ensuring Stake has an effective regulatory engagement strategy;
- Promote understanding of the regulatory environment within Stake and identify areas of regulator focus in the space;
- Keep up with developments in the regulatory environment and changes in law and policy;
- Work closely with the Legal, Risk & Compliance team to ensure that the product roadmap and relevant regulatory issues are effectively communicated and managed with regulators; and
- Ensure any appropriate licences and registrations are obtained in a timely manner.
This is a senior role within the organisation - you will work closely with management including the CEO. You will be expected to work independently and utilise your prior experience and relationships to effectively meet the objectives of the role.
**A bit about you**
- Tertiary qualifications in Law, Finance, Commerce, Accounting or equivalent;
- 4 - 8+ years experience in regulatory affairs including within a financial institution, regulator or professional services firm;
- experience with ASIC and familiarity with financial services regulation in Australia; and
- Solid background in best practice approaches to appropriate regulatory and compliance frameworks within the financial services sector.
The following is not considered essential for the role but will be viewed favourably:
- Experience with other regulators such as APRA and AUSTRAC; and
- Experience with the Financial Markets Authority (FMA) in NZ and NZ financial regulation framework.
**Benefits of working at Stake**
At Stake you'll have the opportunity to work with autonomy while learning from some of the best talent in the industry, playing a meaningful role in building a company that has loads of positive momentum and excitement around it.
- $2,500/year professional development allowance
- $1,000/year wellbeing allowance
- Up to 16 weeks of paid parental leave
- Childcare allowance of up to $18,000 in value over 24 months
- Extra paid leave during tough times
- Discretionary performance bonus and talent referral bonus
- Employee Share Options scheme
Stake is an equal opportunity employer that values diversity. We are proactive about providing an inclusive work environment and do not discriminate based on race, religion, nationality, gender, sexual orientation, age or disability status.
