**Position Information**:
Bonnyrigg High School is a partially selective, co-educational school in South Western Sydney on the land of the Cabrogal clan of the Dharug nation. The school has an enrolment of approximately 1700 students, including 98% from a non-English speaking background and 3% Aboriginal students.

The role of Head Teacher Secondary Studies will be responsible for managing the professional learning agenda of the school, including HPGE, Early Career Teachers and Accreditation, as well as overseeing the EAL/D faculty and the delivery of the Stage 6 English EAL/D course.
**Selection Criteria**:
Applicants must satisfy the teacher training and academic qualification requirements for this position. In addition to the general selection criteria,Demonstrated capacity to lead a diverse faculty in the development and implementation of differentiated teaching and learning programs and assessment practices, with a focus on supporting EAL/D students to reach their full potential- Capacity to effectively lead and support staff in the delivery of professional learning targeting high potential and gifted learners through the use of evidence-informed strategies-
- Proven capacity to work collaboratively with the executive team to lead data driven initiatives that support the implementation of the vision and directions of the school’s strategic plan-
- Demonstrated well developed organisational, interpersonal and communication skills with a proven ability to build positive relationships and lead teams to support the development of a school culture based on high expectations and shared responsibility**General Selection Criteria**:
1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs
3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams
4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents
5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning
6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy
