**About the Role**

Our Theatre/Perioperative Department is seeking to employ a Patient Liaison Officer to join the highly dedicated and experienced team. This role is responsible for:

- Expert physical and psychosocial assessment and education of all elective surgical patients
- Provides relevant education and health literacy information to elective surgical patients
- Completion of all paperwork & IT data entries associated with elective surgical admissions
- Identifies opportunities and facilitates referrals to discharge coordinator and/or other services as necessary.
- Manages the Pre-Operative Clinic for all patients undergoing elective surgery at KDHS
- Manages and coordinates timely theatre lists with the support of the Perioperative Unit Manager

**About You**

The successful applicant will have a sound knowledge of surgical procedures, understand NSQHS Standard criteria and be able to work closely with colleagues regarding admission and discharge. They will be currently registered with AHPRA and have worked in a theatre environment previously.
