
Logistics Manager

As Logistics Manager you will report to the Head of Operations and be responsible for managing the inbound and outbound delivery of fresh produce to ensure that DIFOT is met. You will lead, manage and improve the warehouse teams with a key focus on stock movement and timely and accurate dispatch of freight of both intra and interstate. You will enjoy building strong and trusting relationships with our internal heavy vehicle drivers as well as our third-party freight providers.
Your duties will include:
- Monitor and measure the effectiveness of internal inward bound freight (internal and 3rd party) and recommend the most cost effective and efficient model
- Motivating the warehouse team to achieve high standards and performance
- Plan and coordinate the dispatch of packed goods to customers, ensuring timely delivery and compliance with customer specifications.
- Liaise with major 3rd party freight providers and to ensure customer deadlines are met
- Work cohesively with transport scheduler, Supply and Ops planner in determining safe transportation of produce from farm to the packing facilities.
- Work closely with freight providers to manage and negotiate transportation contracts, ensuring cost-effective and reliable services
- Monitor and enforce compliance with CoR requirements, including safe loading practices, driver fatigue management, vehicle maintenance, and speed management
- Monitor MTData program to ensure all relevant MFF employees are completing appropriate safety checks and are operating within fatigue management rules
You will need the following to succeed:
- Extensive experience in a similar position with an ability to perform in a high-pressure warehouse environment
- The ability to coach, mentor and manage a dedicated warehouse team
- The ability to measure freight and associated costs
- Sound understanding of CoR, fatigue management and other heavy vehicle regulations
- Ability to build strong and effective working relationships (internal and external)
- Proven ability to implement improvement strategies to ensure DIFOT is met
- Strong customer service focus
