Exciting opportunity for an experienced Internal Auditor to join a leading Australian rare earths company

**Your new company**
Our client is an ASX-listed leading Australian rare earths company and is positioned to become a leading Australian rare earths company supplying the growing rare earths permanent magnet sector. Our client is focused on the delivery of a highly prospective Project located in the Gascoyne region of WA.

**Your new role**
We are seeking an Internal Auditor to support and deliver internal audit services that help improve financial and operational control environment; as well as deliver quality internal audits to inform control environment improvements.

Key responsibilities as follows:

- Conduct audit and assessment on internal control processes, risk management and ensure corporate governance compliance.
- Ensure control processes are in place to mitigate identified risks.
- Design test procedures & perform audit testing to assess operating effectiveness of the controls in place.
- Work with process owners on workflows and identify opportunities for refinement.
- Support the development of annual internal audit plan.
- Follow up with process owners on identified issues.
- Prepare and document audit report findings to GM Internal Audit.
- Evaluate business processes in order to ensure alignment with standards, policies and external regulations.

Key Risk Measures:

- Assist to manage the company Risk Management Framework.
- Conduct fieldwork to accurately identify control gaps and inefficiencies, and appropriately describe the risk, root cause and consequence of these.
- Evaluate management action plans to determine whether the risks are appropriately addressed to close out observations.

**What you'll need to succeed**
- Min of 5 years of audit experience in relevant mining industry
- Able to work with cross-skilled teams to execute the end-to-end delivery of engagements from a risk-based internal audit work program, covering areas such as financial, operations, compliance, and risk management
- Good data analytic skill
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to better understand the business and improve the audit delivery
- Analytical mindset
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work autonomously
