Local Government body in need of a finance and customer service officer for 6 month temp role

**Your new role**

We are seeking a dynamic and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Finance and Customer Service Officer. This role combines financial acumen with exceptional communication skills to provide outstanding service to our community.

Key Responsibilities:
Financial Management:

- Undertake timely and accurate processing of amounts due to and owed by the organisation
- Efficient processing of payment and receipts
- Undertake house cashiering duties such as EFTPOS/cash/cheque receipting
- Process petty cash
- End of day reconciliation

Customer Service Excellence:

- Be the first point of contact for community inquiries, providing accurate and timely information.
- Handle customer complaints and resolve issues with empathy and professionalism.
- Collaborate with internal departments to ensure seamless service delivery.

Administrative Support:

- Maintain accurate records and databases.
- Assist with general administrative tasks as required.

**What you'll need to succeed**

Essential:

- Strong customer service skills and a genuine desire to assist the public.
- Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Desirable:

- Previous experience in local government or a similar role.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations.
