About the Role
This role requires a dynamic and highly experienced strategy, planning and project management specialist with a strong track record in the health sector. Your key objective is to drive the development and delivery of the strategic and service plans for St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne to optimally position St Vincent’s now, and into the future. You will work closely with the Executive Director Strategy, Planning and Communication to support, advise and influence the wider leadership team. You will do this by leading the Strategy and Planning team; engaging with and supporting managers and clinical staff to achieve key business, growth, development and strategic priorities. You will employ your strategic, analytical and communication skills along with planning and project management tools and techniques to ensure a rigorous approach to improving performance and outcomes. You will facilitate growth, innovation, best practice and service development across the organisation.
You have strong written and verbal communication skills, are adept at stakeholder management and have a highly developed understanding of the drivers of the health industry. Knowledge and experience of Enterprise Risk Management and Space and Facilities planning would be advantageous.
This role is based at SVHM’s Fitzroy campus. Some inter-campus travel may be required.- Conceptualise, plan and develop organisational strategy and specific service strategies and plans as required to facilitate the growth and ongoing development of St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne.- Work collaboratively with business owners to develop plans to grow and reform clinical and support services.- Lead major service and capital planning projects in the planning phases to ensure delivery against project objectives and to satisfy stakeholder expectations.- Provider leadership for strategic capital and facilities planning to ensure optimal current and future use of facilities and a strategic approach to facilities planning.- Lead the Enterprise Risk function for St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne.- Lead the Space and Facilities Management function for St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne- Lead the business planning and reporting cycle including development of St Vincent’s Public Hospital Division Business Plan, strategic KPIs and priority activities to achieve organisational strategic objectives.- Provide advice and support to the CEO and Executive Team on strategic opportunities, government relations, external environment and external stakeholder issues.
Salary for this position ranges between $165,000 - $175,000 per annum based on the successful applicants experience
Your Contribution- Highly developed strategy, planning and project management skills with a demonstrated track record of success in the health sector.- Demonstrated capability in government and stakeholder engagement including capacity to engage and influence at all levels.- Highly developed analytical and conceptual skills and a demonstrated ability to use data to inform business strategy and development.- Superior communication skills with a demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal forms.- High level of interpersonal skills with demonstrated experience in negotiation, networking and conflict resolution.- Demonstrated experience in managing teams for optimal performance.- Knowledge and experience of enterprise risk management desirable.- Knowledge and experience of space and facilities planning and management desirable.- Degree in Health Management, Planning, Project Management or related discipline.- A post graduate qualification in health management and/or business administration is an advantage.- Current National criminal history check, or willing to obtain

About the Strategy, Planning and Enterprise Risk Department
The Strategy, Planning and Enterprise Risk team is part of the Strategy, Planning and Communication Department and provides high level business consulting and strategic advisory services to St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne (SVHM) to support strategic planning, service planning, operational planning, capital planning and business development across our organisation. Our Department also has a strong focus on partnership and relationship development, including government relations. The Strategy and Planning team coordinates strategic, business planning and other corporate reporting required by SV
