**About Koala Farms**

We are a family owned business and a leading producer in the horticultural industry and produce on properties in the Lockyer Valley and the Darling Downs. We provide year-round production to chain stores and wholesale markets on the east coast of Australia.

**About the Role**

As our business is growing, we have opportunities for you to build a career within our business starting as a farm hand and being part of our production team. On our farms, the production team is responsible for ground preparation for planting, operating spreading and seeding equipment, operating irrigation equipment/systems, weed and pest control, managing and monitoring and harvesting crops and general farm work.

**Key responsibilities**:

- Train and monitor staff where required to ensure tasks are done as per standard procedures
- Prepare working programmes to facilitate implementation of respective tasks
- Assess quality of work and take corrective actions where applicable
- Ensure that all material inputs are adequate for respective operations
- Ensure the upkeep of all tractors and implements
- Liaise with Crew Leader and/or Farm Manager where required
- Operate various tractors and implements
- Identify and report unusual disease or plant pest signs
- Coordinate horticultural crop harvesting

**The successful applicant will need**:

- Previous horticultural experience
- Tractor and farm machinery experience
- Forklift ticket
- Chem Cert Certificate (desired)
- GPS knowledge (desired)
- Possess a strong work ethic and have a high degree of integrity
- Be able to work independently or as part of a team
- Possess a strong work ethic and have a high degree of integrity
- Supervisory experience (desired)
- Ability to work in a multicultural environment
- Computer skills would be advantageous
- Must have own transport

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $27.12 - $32.00 per hour

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
