**About the role**:
The Wool Operations Manager will work closely with the National Manager Elders Wool Handling to coordinate and manage the day-to-day logistics and operations for Elders Wool Handling at its Ravenhall site. This is a key role within Elders new wool handling and is responsible for the logistics of receiving, coring, and marketing our client’s wool in a professional manner to ensure deadlines are met and stakeholders’ expectations are consistently met or exceeded.
**Responsibilities**:
Ensure growers’ bales are received, cored and prepared for sale, and that instructions and agreed KPIs are met
**Oversee store staff in the following areas**: receivals, marshalling, coring, shipping, rehandling and show floor
Ensure that the organisational and wool store objectives are communicated and understood within the team
Supports weekly team meetings to provide regular communication and knowledge sharing (targets, safety, future opportunities for efficiencies, actions to resolve identified issues).
Takes responsibility for team rostering, leave planning and all training requirements achieve productivity targets for the wool store
Work closely with the District Wool Managers to seek feedback and ensure customer expectations are met or exceeded
**About you**:
An understanding of the wool industry, wool logistics and agricultural industry.
Demonstrated experience managing teams and a production site
Proven track record in wool handling.
An understanding of wool growing, shearing shed operations, wool broker rehandle and interlotting systems would be an advantage.
Excellent problem solving and planning skills.
Strong communication, influencing & negotiation skills.
Sound computer skills.
