The role
- Proactively support the operationalisation of policy and strategy to support the delivery of National Immunisation Program and state-funded immunisation programs in Queensland.
- Develop, monitor, and review policy, strategic and action planning documents, consistent with relevant national and state government strategies.
- Develop and maintain strategic partnerships with internal and external stakeholders engaged in immunisation.
- Implement national and state-level policy changes and critically analyse policy options and consider operational impacts for Queensland, including Queensland's demographics, geographic dispersion, and health system structure.
- Monitor and identify links to other relevant state and national agendas, policies and priorities to improve state-wide planning and outcomes.
- Remain responsive to community expectations to ensure the successful delivery of strategic and operational initiatives.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of clinical governance frameworks and risk management strategies to support safe and effective state-wide immunisation programs in partnership with stakeholders.
- Follow defined service quality standards, occupational health and safety policies and procedures relating to the work being undertaken to ensure high quality, safe services and workplaces.
- Fulfil the responsibilities of this role in accordance with Queensland Health's core values, as outlined above.
The successful person
**The essential requirements for this role are**:
- Demonstrated ability deliver strategic priorities and objectives through developing and overseeing the implementation of health policies, strategies, programs, services and activities.
- Experience in workforce matters, clinical governance and risk management, or demonstrated capacity to rapidly develop knowledge and skills in these areas.
- Proven ability to multitask, manage competing priorities and to lead and manage complex state-wide projects.
- Demonstrated ability to consult and provide advice and guidance on health policy matters associated with large-scale, multi-partner and complex systems.
- Demonstrated advanced communication, consultation and negotiation skills and ability to foster high functioning internal and external stakeholder relationships.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team, with a strong commitment to fostering collective responsibility for outcomes.
