**About the role**:
Working within the Aged Care Unit that develops and manages complex aged care and disability policies and programs, this role will report to the Manager Aged Care Assessment and Transition Care Program. This role will lead complex policy and programs that support the interface of health and aged care systems.
To be successful in this role, you will be a high performing individual with strong leadership, analytical, problem solving, policy development, operational implementation and performance management and communication skills. The role would be suited to individuals who are comfortable working with complex issues, in multidisciplinary teams and with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
The role is a great opportunity to demonstrate and build on the full set of public sector policy and program delivery skills, including collaborating and influencing across agencies, driving, and reporting on performance and managing financial and reputational risk. The role will grant exposure to departmental, health service and Commonwealth stakeholders, and provide a good view of health system priorities and issues.

**Key Role Accountabilities**
- Provide high quality business intelligence, authoritative advice and sound policy and program recommendations to senior management and government based on comprehensive research.
- Oversee the development and management of policy, initiatives and programs that meet government and departmental objectives within resourcing, timeline, and budget parameters.
- Pro-actively build and maintain effective working relationships and facilitate the flow of information across government departments, the broader health and aged care sectors and Commonwealth.
- Maintain an understanding of Commonwealth and State legislative and policy reform directions to influence policy development and program delivery.
- Represent the department on key government and non-government committees and bodies concerned with achieving relevant government and departmental objectives.
**Qualifications / Specialist Expertise**
Qualifications - A tertiary qualification in a field related to health, disability, public administration, or public policy would be desirable
Specialist Expertise - Demonstrated knowledge and/or experience in health or aged care sectors in Victoria and/or the Commonwealth would be advantageous.
