Huon in Tasmania, Australia is looking for an experienced Able Seaman/Seafarer to join the team on our Wellboats.
**The role**
The Ronja Huon and Ronja Storm vessels are based out of Port Huon and operate across all our sites from Storm Bay to the D’Entrecasteaux Channel. As an Able Seaman/Seafarer, you will be required to support the Master and Officers in their areas of responsibility, ensuring work is undertaken in a safe and competent manner. Your duties include:
- Sea Service Requirements and adhere to relevant regulations
- Assistance in the investigation of accidents, incidents and near misses should they occur
- Repairing, and maintenance across the ship
- Loading, unloading, refuelling and returning of waste
- Mooring and casting off for arrivals, departures and bathing
- Procedures in accordance with ISM/IL-AKVA
This is a fulltime position operating on a 4 weeks on, 4 weeks off roster
**About you**
- Hold an AMSA certificate of competency STCW II/4 with relevant experience in the industry.
- Have a current AMSA medical
- Have a current and valid driver’s licence
- Are an excellent communicator with proven ability to work effectively within a team and autonomously
- Have demonstrated the ability to adapt, deal with uncertainty and remain calm in a changing environment
- Have a keen eye for detail and a proactive focus on continually looking to improve processes
- English language proficiency
