Out Federal Government Client is seeking skilled Security Advisor for a 12 month temporary contract.
The APS5 Regional Security Advisor will contribute to the provision of technical, professional and operational support and advice to complex problems. This role will have responsibility for managing protective security matters and advice for agency’s offices within a specified geographical area, requiring intrastate and occasional interstate travel.
The APS5 Regional Security Advisor will have a considerable level of contact with internal and external stakeholders and will be required to communicate with and provide advice on a range of matters to resolve moderately complex to complex enquiries.
**Responsibilities may include but are not limited to**:

- Providing protective security advice to the Agency, including strategic partners in the community.
- Assisting in the development, maintenance and review of protective security policies and procedures.
- Monitoring and reporting on compliance with mandatory security framework requirements.
- Preparing, monitoring and reviewing security plans, site security reviews and risk assessments.
- Assisting in the continuous improvement of Agency security through the development and delivery of training, awareness and education programs.
- Contributing to the Protective Security Teams (PST) management of Agency security operations, overseeing security maintenance programs, troubleshooting and rectifying security system faults and issues where required.
- Obtaining metrics and providing reporting in support of managing Agency security risks and identifying and reporting emerging security issues/incidents/trends and providing solutions.
- Assisting in the management of Security, Emergency Management and Incident reporting protocols for the Agency.
- Contributing to the development, management and delivery of identified protective security projects

- Demonstrated ability for continuous learning and innovative thinking.
- Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with a range of colleagues and stakeholders on building security awareness through a workplace.
- Demonstrated ability to implement and embed people related polices across geographically dispersed worksites.
- Demonstrated well-developed oral and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in high level administration
- Ability to make sound decisions under pressure and in high-stress situations
- Demonstrated ability to deliver face-to-face non assessed training sessions.

**Desirable skills to have for the role/s**:

- Demonstrated knowledge of Australian Government protective security policies and procedures or the demonstrated ability to quickly acquire such knowledge
- Proven leadership skills and experience in managing teams or projects
- Strategic thinking and the ability to foresee and mitigate potential security risks
