The Magistrates' Court of Victoria (MCV) is a jurisdiction within the Court Services Victoria statutory authority, and has a long history of providing justice for the people of Victoria in metropolitan and regional courts across the state. The Court determines in excess of 300,000 cases per annum at 51 venues, equating to approximately 90 per cent of all cases that come before Victorian courts each year. About the role
The Supervising Registrar (Team Leader), CIP supervises and develops a team of CIP Data Custodians and Data Officers who are responsible for responding to requests for information from family violence partner agencies. The Supervising Registrar (Team Leader), CIP also provides an escalation point for the CIP Data Custodian and Data Officer team; provides support and guidance with complex reporting requirements; and is responsible for the delivery of quality and timely outputs of the CIP Data Custodians and Data Officers.
About you
As a Registrar of the Magistrates' Court, perform appropriate legal, administrative and quasi-judicial functions in accordance with appropriate policies and FSV and court operational practices. Provide oversight, guidance and information to data custodians on legislation and client safety, including acting as an escalation point for complex matters as required.
Lead a small team of MCV CIP Data Custodians, including assisting with planning and delivery of professional development initiatives, provision of ongoing support, guidance and training.
Communicate and contribute to team planning and multidisciplinary discussions, work process improvements, day-to-day administration and the ongoing development of the CIP.
In partnership with the CIP coordinators, assist with delegation of work to MCV data custodians and monitor outputs to ensure reports are delivered within deadlines and meet the appropriate information standards to inform risk assessment.
Prepare written correspondence, reports, presentations and briefings including viable options for consideration and well-reasoned recommendations on CIP related activity.
Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including FSV CIP management team to facilitate the delivery of the Central Information Point objectives.
Other duties as directed and commensurate with the skills and classification level of the role.
Certificate IV in Government (Court Services) and/or relevant qualification in family violence or another field would be highly regarded.
