About the RoleThe Adolescent Day Program (ADP) provides intensive and specialist multidisciplinary assessment and integrated treatment and rehabilitation to adolescents aged between 13 and 18 years of age with severe, complex and persistent mental health problems, often associated with complex developmental comorbidities and significant functional impairment across multiple domains.
- Serve as a positive role model to other carers and families and be open to sharing personal lived experience of assisting a person with mental health needs. Work within appropriate boundaries and draw on knowledge and expertise gained through reflection on own lived experience. Provide direct carer peer support to carers, families and significant others, engaging in individual and group peer support, advocacy and educational activities. Under s25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991 (Qld), there is a genuine occupational requirement for the incumbent to possess a personal lived/living experience as a carer for a family member using mental health services (public or private).
