**The role**

This role supports the Senior Water Resources Engineer in both business as usual activities and in delivering on strategic actions to ensure we are able to meet our supply reliability level of service commitments now and into the long term.

The position is directly accountable for leading the coordination of technical information that supports planning for water resource needs and what system augmentations and actions will be required to maintain levels of service and provide for future growth. Key data and information are utilised to predict water resource shortfalls and any operational configuration changes that should be considered for best outcome for our customers. The role promotes the embedding of concepts relating to cost of service, climate change, energy use, carbon emitted, and severe climate events into water resource planning.

**What you’ll bring**
- Tertiary qualification in an appropriate engineering or scientific discipline.
- Experience working in a technical role in infrastructure management and/or water resources planning.
- Understanding of hydrologic and hydrogeologic processes and systems and the development of water resources strategies, asset and system plans.
- Well-developed interpersonal skills and the ability to liaise with employees, consultants, authorities and contractors.
- Self-motivated and demonstrated ability to embrace innovative solutions and challenge technical policies and standards to achieve goals.
