We are now on the hunt for an experienced,
**Payroll Officer for an immediate start**. This role is integral to our employee experience and is a standalone position within our Finance Division. You will have great communication skills and be willing to roll up your sleeves to assist our Operations teams. You will value integrity and confidentiality in this senior position.
We run a fortnightly payroll for around 200 employees and we require an experienced Payroll Officer to administer the timely, accurate and relevant processing and recording of this. Some of your responsibilities include:
- Ensure project record in our ERP system for direct and indirect labour are accurate in terms of $, Job/Project Numbers/Divisions by generating daily and weekly Job Reports from InterAcct/Sage 300;
- Liaising closely with the operations team to ensure that all time sheets are entered electronically via e-timesheets and transferred into Sage300 Payroll in a timely manner to enable the processing of accurate payroll;
- Export timesheets for all staff to InterAcct (Super Gardens ERP System);
- Prepare superannuation statements with monthly reconciliations to match the deductions with payments fund wise;
- Generate reports required by Financial and Management Accountant for posting to General Ledger;
- Run additional pay-runs as required for any adjustments, back pays, corrections etc.;
- Liaise with external system service providers (Sage300 & InterAcct) and other statutory authorities such as banks, SRO, Co-invest and ATO as required;
- Liaising closely with the People, Safety and Culture team regarding new employees, changes to existing employees employment conditions and termination details are captured in a timely manner to enable the processing of accurate payroll;
- Timely processing of PAYG, lodgement of Payroll tax and Annual Payroll reconciliation
- Be the point of contact for all employees regarding payroll queries;
- Follow-up with Managers on any unusual items that appear in the reports;
- Work closely with the Manager Operations Accounting Division and Project and Supply Analyst/s to improve accuracy and timing of monthly management reports; and
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of systems and processes ensuring services meet professional and industry standards.
Coming from a similar role, you will have experience as a Payroll Officer, ideally with knowledge in, Microsoft Office including advanced Excel and outstanding communication skills. Experience in Sage 300 Construction and Real Estate (formerly known as Timberline) is strongly preferred.
