**Behaviour Support Officer**

The Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) Officer is responsible to work closely with the Senior Behavioural Therapist who reviews all of the Behaviour Support Plans and to ensure that they meet all legislative and organisational requirements The PBS Officer will also play a role to ensure that Positive Rhythm meet the reporting requirements to the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission.

**Duties and responsibilities**

Ensuring behaviour support approaches comply with the NDIS Quality and Safeguarding Framework and OH&S legislation.

Understanding how policies and procedures support participants with behaviour support needs.

Preparing monthly reporting from the NDIS Commission on the use of restrictive practices by Positive Rhythm as the implementing provider.

Ensure services are delivered within the framework of Positive Rhythm’s policies and procedures, legislative requirements, and meet the relevant service standards.

Assist internal PBS Practitioners with administrative tasks including but not limited to collecting relevant information, researching best practice, providing reference to evidence-based research.

Check the portal for newly uploaded BSPs to ensure all restrictive practices and dates are correct.

Providing support to Senior Behavioural therapist regarding PBS plans, diary or use of restrictive practices as requested by the Senior Practitioner.

Conduct internal audits of therapist’s files and provide feedback to Senior Practitioner

Perform other duties and responsibilities, as directed by the Manager or delegate.

**Selection Criteria Desired**

Experience providing services to people and children with disability with complex behaviour needs.

A working knowledge of the NDIS Commission Behaviour Support Rules and relevant disability legislation

Demonstrate excellent interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in high demand environments.

Strong communication skills including effective interpersonal, conflict negotiation and resolution skills.

Proven flexibility, adaptability and able to respond and adjust easily to change in work demands.

Computer literacy, including proficiency in in electronic records and data management tools.

Satisfactory completion of safety screening including a National Police check, International Police check (if required), a current ACT Working with Children Check (Employee), current Drivers Licence, and the right to work in Australia.

Salary dependant on ability and experience

7 weeks paid holiday yearly at set times.

2-3 days per week

**Job Type**: Part-time

**Salary**: $32.21 - $35.00 per hour
