Digital Officer Role, Immediate stat, Sydney, 12 Month Contract

A new role with one of our Local Councils has just became available for an immediate start.

**Your new role**
Your new role will be a Digital Officer for one of our Local Councils. Local Government experience is not essential but would be a plus.

Key Skills:

- Detailed knowledge/experience of content and site management using Drupal 7 or similar system
- Copy editing & common sense content/page design
- Lightweight image editing (cropping and optimising for web)
- Content prioritisation and triage
- Stakeholder management and communication
- Awareness and/or practical knowledge of WCAG accessibility requirements

Key Responsibilities will be:
Assist and support the processes and practices of the digital team to enhance the delivery of digital services including:

- Traffic management/incoming work triage and assignment to appropriate team member
- Supporting client business units in the generation and maintenance of high quality web content
- Be accountable for minor day to day decision making about content and for providing clear and concise written advice and recommendations.
- Identifying opportunities for improvements

Ensure other BUs have the tools to self-serve including:

- CMS user management
- Communicating relevant changes in digital tools to users
- Provide high-level advice on the best use of the website
- Logging and communicating other Business Unit requests to unskill in systems relevant to the Digital and Communications teams
- Ensuring compliance with relevant web standards (WCAG 2.1, etc)
- Where appropriate ensuring that the practices of the digital team align with organisational best practice, policy and plans (branding, unifying similar solutions to problems etc.)
- Ensuring Information Architecture and User Experience concepts and usability are maintained and suggestions for enhancements are captured.
