Your role at St John of God Ballarat Hospital

Responsible for ensuring the effective cleaning, decontamination, packing and sterilising of items for reprocessing in accordance with AS 4187 as well as ensuring equipment associated with the above is utilized appropriately at all times.

The Position
- The processing of items for sterilisation & the operation of associated equipment under the delegation of a Grade 2 Instrument Technician or Manager
- Ensure utilisation of chemicals is in accordance with manufacturers guidelines.
- Utilise Instrument processing equipment appropriately.
- Undertake equipment performance tests and documented appropriately.
- Instrument & equipment processing
- Maintain effective work practice in regard to manual and mechanical washing, lubrication, drying, packaging and sterilising.
- Develop a sound working knowledge of all instrumentation requiring reprocessing.
- Sterile supplies maintenance
- Monitor and maintain inventory levels of sterile supplies.
- Ensure appropriate storage and handling of non-sterile and sterile stock.

It is highly regarded if you possess certificate III in Sterilisation Services or have the willingness to undertake this training. It is also highly regarded if you hold experience in CSSD sterilization and instrument processing.

- Salary: $58,968 to $65,104 (pro rata for part time), plus 11% superannuation
- A Part Time position working 30 hours a week.
