Company Description
It all started with an idea at Block in 2013. Initially built to take the pain out of peer-to-peer payments, Cash App has gone from a simple product with a single purpose to a dynamic app, bringing a better way to send, spend, invest, borrow and save to our millions of monthly active users. With a mission to redefine the world's relationship with money by making it more relatable, instantly available and universally accessible, at Cash App you'll have the opportunity to make a real-world impact with your career.
Today, Cash App has thousands of employees around the world with a culture geared toward creativity, collaboration and impact. We’ve been a distributed team since day one, and continue to value working across time zones and continents both remotely and in our Cash App offices.
Our offices are great, but many of our roles can be done remotely from the countries where Block operates. We tailor our experience to champion our employees’ creativity and productivity wherever they are.

**Job Description**:
The Financial Platform (FinPlat) team provides APIs and platform services that power Cash App’s mission to “make the world’s relationship with money more relatable, instantly available, and universally accessible”.
Within FinPlat, our Platform-as-a-Product team is using Lean approaches to uncover customer needs and deliver strong value propositions with new API based products. While the domain is technical, the problems are very human, and you would join this new team to help model best practices in continuous customer-discovery, demand validation, and experience design.
The primary focus of this role will be research and interaction design. If you’re a designer who loves spending hours pushing pixels, this isn’t the role for you. We’re going to operate as a fast moving multi-disciplinary team to facilitate product discovery, requiring all team members to occasionally stretch into areas outside their main role, so a broad skill-set and an interest in trying new things is desired.
Working closely with experienced software engineers and technical product managers, you’d be a rare design hire for this platform focussed team, but your work and professional development would be well supported by a world-class design organization across Cash App.
**You will**:
- Define potential customer groups for the platform
- Co-design the continuous discovery process for the team, alongside product and engineering
- Design and facilitate workshops, user research activities, stakeholder interviews and research critique sessions & synthesize findings, and strongly champion the customer’s voice.
- Use personas or other techniques to distill and understanding of our customers and communicate it to product developers
- Utilize prototyping techniques to learn quickly about what products engage our customers
- Oversee the user experience of API product offerings, that will enable our customers to build new fintech experiences on top of our platform.
- Assist technical product managers in designing validation experiments
- Collaborate on experience design of programs upskill and empower product developers to connect more closely with customer value.
- Be a key contributor to defining and designing visual artifacts, presentations, and websites that convey our product vision to our customers.
**Qualifications**:
**You have**:
- A history of thriving in ambiguity
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Experience working with and influencing technical stakeholders
- At least 5 years of professional design experience
- Experience in fintech/payments/financial services a plus but not required
