We have some exciting once-in-a-generation opportunities to reform Victoria's mental health system and make a real difference to the way people experiencing mental illness are supported in Victoria.
Backed by an unprecedented $3.8 billion investment in response to the findings of the Royal Commission into Victoria's Mental Health System, the Mental Health and Wellbeing Division in the Department of Health is embarking on the ambitious policy challenge of reshaping the mental health system in Victoria to reshape the scope and the way mental health services are delivered in Victoria. These reforms also include a focus on supporting integrated services for people with co-occurring menta health and substance use issues.
As a key priority of the Victorian Government, these roles are a unique opportunity to form part of diverse and skilled teams and play a key role in addressing one of the most important issues facing our community.
We are looking for an exceptional individual to join the Medically Supervised Injecting Room unit in the Mental Health Division's Strategy and Policy Branch.
As part of the Medically Supervised Injecting Room unit's Operations team, the Principal Policy Adviser is responsible for implementing the medically supervised injecting room trial, including leading on service performance management and oversight, evidence, and supporting local precinct and gateway service initiatives.
Day to day tasks include operating as a strategic commissioner to lead external stakeholder relationships, informing operational policy, and reviewing and advising on policies and projects that drive continuous improvement.
