**About the Role**
- An exciting opportunity now open within the Value Engineering group. We are currently seeking an experienced leader to manage our System Dynamics team.Key aspects of the role include:

- Leading and mentoring a team of simulation professionals, empowering them to develop cutting-edge skills and deliver high-impact solutions.
- Driving continuous improvement in the team's capability, ensuring tools and methodologies remain at the forefront of industry standards.
- Identifying and implementing ways to leverage simulation models to deliver measurable value across BHP’s value chain, guiding strategic decision-making and optimising performance.
- Reporting to Head of Value Engineering, your key accountabilities include:

- Developing the skills, capabilities, and expertise of your team to ensure they deliver innovative and fit-for-purpose simulation models that address business challenges.
- Shaping the strategic direction for how simulation is applied across the business, unlocking value and enhancing operational performance.
- Collaborating with key stakeholders to align model insights with business objectives and ensuring simulation results directly contribute to decision-making and value generation.
- Managing the prioritisation and resourcing of simulation projects, balancing immediate delivery with long-term capability building.
- Cultivating an environment where continuous learning, innovation, and excellence are central to the team’s culture.

**About You**
- We are looking for a results-driven and technically adept leader who can deliver value through advanced simulation models while fostering a high-performing team.
- Demonstrated people leader experience with strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to develop and mentor technical teams.
- Demonstrated relevant experience in delivering and managing system dynamics or simulation studies in the mining, resource or heavy industry.
- A Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Engineering, Applied Science, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to synthesise complex data and deliver actionable insights.
- Exceptional communication skills and the ability to engage and influence across multitude of levels.
