**The Opportunity**

We have a current vacancy for casual Support Workers, working across the Newcastle and Hunter region.

The Support Worker role at Justiz has four underlying principles
- _Self Determination:_ Every person has a right to make their own decisions. It should be assumed that all people with disability have a capacity to make decisions for themselves.
- _Self-Advocacy:_ Support Workers have an important role to play in supporting people with disability to realise and develop their capacity for self-determination to the maximum possible extent, by encouraging confidence and providing opportunities for decision making, self-expression and self-advocacy.
- _Person Centred Individual Planning:_ The planning process for people with disability should be at the individual level and place a key emphasis on encouraging and supporting individuals to make their own decisions and advocate their own rights and interests.
- _Empowering environment:_ The service delivery environment will be designed to empower people with a disability.

**Requirements**:
Ideally, you will have
- Previous experience as a support worker in the disability sector
- Experience in, or understanding, of the NDIS
- Certificate III or above qualification
- Completion of relevant NDIS learning modules
- Confident and professional communication skills with excellent collaboration skills and an ability to develop strong relationships with key stakeholders

Pay: $32.79 - $43.08 per hour

**Education**:

- Certificate I - IV (preferred)

- Support Work: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- NDIS Worker Check (preferred)
