Our client is one of Australians most reputable wholesale nurseries, producing high quality vegetable seedlings and supplying a range of farming customers locally and throughout regional Victoria. Since being established in the 90's, our client's business has become one of Australia's largest and most renowned Vegetable Seedling Nurseries.

Your Role

As the Head Grower, you will be instrumental in leading the vegetable seedling growing team, and ensuring that all crops scheduled to be delivered meet the specifications and appropriate timing.

This role will see you be an integral part of the leadership team as well as actively participating in industry seminars and field days.

Further to the above, your duties will include but not be limited to:
Cultivate production of vegetable seedlings and maintaining optimal growing conditions

Meet seedling specifications

Irrigation and moisture management, pest and disease control management and delivering optimal plant nutrition, health, and overall quality

Maintaining growing area - Nursery, (i.e., hygiene, good housekeeping, safety)

Liaising with relevant departments (i.e., sowing, dispatch) to ensure customer requirements are met

Completing daily records and reports and periodic updates of growing operation to Senior Management

**About You**

You will have sound knowledge and experience of farming or nursery operations, and a hands-on, lead by example approach to management. This role is a great opportunity to be part of a busy, dynamic, and successful team, whilst gaining autonomy to run your own department within a highly respected leading vegetable seedling nursery.

To be considered for the role, it is important that you can address the following:
Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Horticulture, Agronomy, or similar qualification(s)

Grower experience

Current farm chemical users' certificate

Current vehicle driver's license

Experience operating computerised, automated Priva Irrigation Systems (highly regarded)

Forklift LF license (desirable)

Intermediate competence in computer-based software

High regard for safety standards and following company protocols
