**The Opportunity**:
The School of Social Sciences and MSDI (Monash Sustainable Development Institute) are seeking a Research Fellow to join the ARC Research Hub for Value-Added Processing of Underutilised Carbon Waste. This role will contribute to the project “Building social and policy support for upcycling and the circular economy ecosystem” The sub-projects are ‘Building public trust in upcycling’ and ‘Designing upcycling business ecosystems’.
You will conduct independent and collaborative research with Prof Jo Lindsay and AProf Martin Geissdoerfer, including a literature review, co-design workshops with Hub partners, and qualitative case studies. The role also involves drafting conference papers, journal articles and policy briefs, and developing resources for a public-facing website to build understanding of upcycling.
This position offers the opportunity to advance research that connects social science, sustainability and policy, shaping the future of the circular economy.
You will bring strong research and writing expertise, including experience preparing manuscripts, research proposals and refereed publications. The role also requires excellent organisational and communication skills, the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team, and a collegial approach to working with others. Proficiency in using analytical software will be highly regarded.
