**Biochemistry and Molecular Biology**

The Department of Biochemistry & Molecular Biology, the largest within the School of Biomedical Sciences at Monash University, is a national leader in its field. With a research and teaching focus spanning cell biology, signal transduction, host/pathogen interactions, structural biology, immunology, and developmental biology, the Department plays a pivotal role in understanding the chemical components of living cells and the mechanisms underlying major human diseases. Its work is directly relevant to pressing health challenges such as infection, inflammation, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, cancer, and neurological disorders.
