**Position Information**:
Schools and parents are responsible for maintaining the regular attendance of students at school. The Home School Liaison Program assists schools and parents in fulfilling this responsibility.

The Home School Liaison Program is managed and coordinated by Delivery Support staff across the state. Ths HLSO position will be located in the Girraween network. The HSLO will be required to support 15 primary schools and 5 high schools within Girraween network to improve student engagement and attendance. However, travel is required outside the network in the western suburbs catchment area.

Ann Bahnisch is the Director, Educational Leadership of the Girraween network.

**Selection Criteria**:

- Approval to teach qualifications and recent school-based experience and / or experience supporting schools
- Demonstrated experience in student welfare, including implementation of attendance policy and procedures
- Demonstrated ability to liaise with schools, students, parents and agencies in a multicultural setting
- Knowledge of and commitment to the Department’s Aboriginal Education policies
- A valid driver's license and ability to travel between work sites in western Sydney

**Conditions**:
Temporary appointment until the end of 2026 school year.

Ability and willingness to travel between worksites.

Salary as for teachers, plus HSLO allowance. The appointee will be required to attend a training program in Sydney. Other conditions as outlined in Schedule 10 of the Crown Employees (Teachers in Schools and Related Employees) Salaries and Conditions Award 2020.
