**About the Role**:
We have an exciting opportunity for an AHA2 to join our acute hospital-based team. Our AHA team has a lovely group of AHA’s who work together with our Occupational Therapists to provide patient centred therapy and care. The role ranges from provision of therapies including UL therapy, patient orientation, ADL retraining, equipment set up and non-clinical tasks including management of equipment and resources. We are inviting suitably qualified Occupational Therapy Assistants or Occupational Therapy students to apply. Previous experience working in an acute hospital setting or Occupational Therapy department desirable although not required.

As the Canberra Hospital continues to expand, so does our Occupational Therapy Department. Our department provides Occupational Therapy services across the Canberra Hospital and Centenary Hospital for Women and Children, including critical care units, medical and surgical wards, outpatients and maternity and paediatrics.

Our Allied Health assistants are provided with opportunities including AHA peer support, supervision by Occupational Therapists and AHA3 staff. Our AHA’s are invited to join in our in-services and education opportunities to build skills and knowledge.

- Undergo a pre-employment National Police Check.
- Prior to commencing this role, a current registration issued under the _Working with Vulnerable People (Background Checking) Act 2011_ _is required.
- Comply with Canberra Health Services Occupational Assessment, Screening and Vaccination policy.
- Comply with CHS credentialing and scope of clinical practice requirements for allied health professionals.
- Certificate in AHA or currently studying as Occupational Therapy student at University (evidence of same).
