The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (Cth) (CDPP) is seeking a Senior Executive Service (SES) Band 1 Assistant Director to successfully lead and manage a legal branch in delivering independent, modern, effective and digitally enabled prosecution services.

**About the role**:
As a key member of the CDPP’s leadership team, you will be responsible for leading and managing all aspects of a legal branch, including leading people, managing performance and contributing to the strategic leadership and management of our organisation.
- Focus strategically on the CDPP’s core activities and role within the government context, driving outcomes and championing broader priorities both within and outside the organisation.
- Identify, establish and nurture relationships with key strategic stakeholders outside the CDPP.
- Consult broadly, drawing information from many external and internal sources and points of view to determine emerging threats, risks and opportunities to formulate and give impartial and forthright advice and to make difficult decisions.
- Set the strategic direction for a legal branch, communicating objectives and expectations to create a shared sense of purpose and engender a commitment to achieving results.
- Lead and mentor lawyers and staff, providing guidance and assistance with questions of criminal law and practice, including advocacy.
