Melbourne, Australia Australian Bureau of Meteorology Full time

Executive Level 1, Non-ongoing
- $103,085 - $116,115 + 15.4% super
- Brisbane or Melbourne

The Aviation, Land and Maritime Transport (ALMT) Program is responsible for delivering the Aviation Meteorological Services portfolio, which provides the aviation industry with specialised meteorological services contributing to efficient and effective aviation operations within the Australian Flight Information Regions and the Asia-Pacific Region. The services include the provision of observations, forecasts, warnings, and advisories, and are provided within the technical and regulatory framework of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and the World Meteorological Organization (WMO).

As part of this service delivery, we have dedicated operational teams working 24/7 shift rosters in Brisbane, Melbourne, and Canberra. In addition to providing these meteorological services, operational teams also work in a non-operational capacity to assist with projects, customer engagement, updating procedures, completing training and competency requirements, and supporting other ALMT and other Bureau areas. All these capacity demands, including staff leave, need to be carefully planned and executed to ensure maximum benefit for our customers and a balanced work package for our people.

This role is responsible for supporting these operational teams by establishing a national approach to delivering rosters, including consolidated and unified process development and enabling flexible rostering outcomes to facilitate agile work allocation and flexible working arrangements. The role will support associated functions including capacity planning and coordination of off line activities in the short to long term under broad direction of the Service Delivery Optimisation Manager and the Aviation Operations Leadership Team.
