Position Objective
Working as part of a team to perform works to Council’s sportsgrounds and reserves, including turf maintenance, and general horticultural works.
Key Responsibilities
Safety
? Follow defined Work Health and Safety legislation, policies and procedures related to the work being undertaken in order to ensure own safety and that of others in the workplace.
? Actively identify, report and, where possible, fix workplace hazards.
? Responsible for and actively involved in identifying and managing risk in day to day activities and projects.
Operational requirements
? Undertake activities to support the effective operation and maintenance of plant and equipment, including:

- Ensuring all prestart and routine checks and inspections are completed;
- Liaising with Fleet Services on plant and equipment related matters ensuring faults are promptly reported and fixed; and
- Completing plant usage sheets.
? Undertake maintenance and repair works to Council’s sportsgrounds and reserves in line with work orders and associated procedures.

? Safely operate plant and equipment to maintain Council’s sportsgrounds and reserves including ride on mowers, whipper snippers and blowers.
? Identify and appropriately respond to any technical issues and problems relevant to work activity.
? Interact and liaise with members of the community including representatives from sports clubs in a professional manner.
General requirements
? Undertake other reasonable related duties.
? Follow defined information management practices, policies and procedures for all records created and received.
? Positively contribute to our constructive culture by living our values which guide decision making and delivery of outcomes for our community.
? Promote and maintain a child safe environment and take action as per Council's Children and Vulnerable Persons Policy.
