Our Federal Government client is seeking an
**Assessing Officer** that enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and can deliver high quality work within tight deadlines.

**About the role**:

- Provide high quality customer service to our clients who have applied for an import permit or are importing goods to Australia
- Provide sound technical advice to importers, operational staff within the department and other stakeholders
- Prepare changes to the department’s import conditions database
- Assist with the preparation of written briefs, reports, correspondence, and other documentation

**Ideally you will have**:

- Ability to analyse and communicate scientific, technical and policy information
- Have well-developed written and verbal communication skills
- Good attention to detail with a focus on producing high quality and accurate work
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team

**Mandatory qualifications**:
A tertiary qualification in a relevant area of biological, animal science or related scientific discipline is mandatory.

**Desirable knowledge and experience**:
Knowledge or previous experience in the following will be advantageous
- Customer service experience
- Communicating complex information in a clear, written format
