The Opportunity

The Carriage House is an à la carte restaurant located within The Clayfield Retirement Village. Working closely with the Community Manager, Food & Beverage Manager and your team of staff, you'll lead the kitchen to success by providing exquisite catering & hospitality services that exceed the satisfaction of restaurant guests. You will have a positive rapport with restaurant guests & your small team, be hands-on, understand food safety principles and ensure sufficient supplies of goods & ingredients. Most importantly, you'll have a passion for fine dining and delivering a gold standard of service If you are a Head Chef or a Chef looking for a new opportunity, this is your next exciting opportunity

Your Impact:

• Be responsible for all back-of-house kitchen operations - preparing meals during service times, providing guidance to your team and creating fresh ideas
• Work closely with the Food & Beverage Manager to coordinate menu ideas for events and function events
• Monitor daily Food Safety checklists and ensure adherence to all OH&S policies
• Complete stock management of all goods including ordering, rotation and amendments
• Following up on day-to-day operational issues including adhering to schedules, cleaning lists and performance issues 

What you'll bring:

• Experience as a Chef in an à la carte dining setting, hotel restaurant setting or casual dining setting (highly desired)
• Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (required)
• Qualified Food Safety Supervisor (desirable)
• Kitchen management experience (ordering stock, rostering or admin experience)
• Minimum two (2) COVID-19 vaccinations (required)
