The City of Perth is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Urban Designer to lead diverse and exciting city shaping public realm projects. As a key member of our Transport and Urban Design team, you will be responsible for guiding the planning, design, and implementation of projects that positively impact the future of the City.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and manage project briefs and proposals for inclusion in Council's budget and programs for studies and works;
- Lead the planning, design, and implementation of high-level complexity projects from inception to completion;
- Prepare management plans and make policy recommendations in relation to urban design matters;
- Successfully lead, motivate, and manage a multi-disciplined project team for capital works projects of a high complexity.
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant design discipline or approved equivalent professional qualification;
- Extensive and diverse experience planning, designing, and delivering public realm projects;
- Comprehensive knowledge of Standards Australia codes and practices and local government statutory requirements and processes necessary in the design and development of urban enhancement projects;
- A sound understanding of urban design principles, along with knowledge of relevant computerized applications.
To succeed in this role, you will possess a strong passion for urban design and a commitment to delivering high-quality projects that meet the needs of the community. You will be a collaborative team player with excellent communication and leadership skills, and a proven track record of managing complex projects and teams.
