The City of Perth is seeking a highly skilled Senior Urban Designer to lead diverse and exciting city shaping public realm projects. As a key member of our Transport and Urban Design team, you will guide the planning, design, and implementation of projects that positively impact the future of the City.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Preparing specialist project briefs and proposals for inclusion in Council's budget and programs for studies and works;
  • Managing studies, plans, frameworks, projects or works of a high-level complexity from inception to completion;
  • Preparing management plans and making policy recommendations in relation to urban design matters;
  • Successfully leading, motivating and managing a multi-disciplined project team for capital works projects of a high complexity.

To succeed in this role, you will possess:

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant design discipline or approved equivalent professional qualification;
  • Extensive and diverse experience planning, designing and delivering public realm projects;
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Standards Australia codes and practices and local government statutory requirements and processes necessary in the design and development of urban enhancement projects;
  • A sound understanding of urban design principles, along with knowledge of relevant computerized applications.

Eligibility requirements include a right to work in Australia, a current 'C' class Australian drivers licence, and a satisfactory National Police Clearance.
