The Asset Strategy Lead is a key position that plays a crucial role in driving excellence in asset lifecycle management through best practice frameworks, systems, and standards.


This individual will be responsible for the development and continuous improvement of the Strategic Asset Management Plan (SAMP), Asset Management Policy, asset planning standards, and supporting systems.


The role ensures alignment with ISO 55000 principles and embeds asset management practices that support business objectives and long-term sustainability.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Define and champion the portfolio-wide vision for Strategic Asset Management.
  • Develop and implement Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure and improve asset strategy maturity and outcomes.
  • Act as a subject matter expert to align senior stakeholders and business unit efforts with best practice.
  • Ownership of the Asset Management Policy and SAMP.
  • Ensure consistent application and compliance across the portfolio.
Requirements:
  • Tertiary qualifications in Engineering or a related field are required.
  • Expert skill level in ISO 55000 Asset Management is essential.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills are necessary for success in this role.
  • Confident liaising with people from all levels of business including the Executive Team.
  • Ability to operate effectively in ambiguous and evolving environments.
  • Strong leadership skills are required to drive strategic change.
  • Minimum 10 years' experience in asset management and/or strategy is preferred.
  • Proven ability to influence stakeholders and lead strategic change.
  • Experience with portfolio asset management systems and planning tools is beneficial.
  • Demonstrated leadership in deploying portfolio standards and systems.
