About the Role:

This is a key leadership position within Freeport-McMoRan, responsible for driving the company's asset optimization strategy.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in engineering and maintenance, with experience in leading teams and implementing process improvements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement asset optimization strategies to improve reliability and efficiency
  • Lead cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize process improvements
  • Collaborate with site leadership to develop and implement maintenance and reliability standards
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to site maintenance departments
  • Develop and maintain productive partnerships with OEMs to drive component enhancements and equipment improvements

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent and eleven years of related technical or engineering experience, including supervisory or lead experience; OR
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field and seven years of related technical or engineering experience, including supervisory or lead experience; OR
  • Master's degree in engineering or related field and five years of related technical or engineering experience, including supervisory or lead experience
  • Extensive experience on Health and Safety management systems and standards for the Mining Industry
  • Solid knowledge of Cu Processing facilities and flowsheets with focus on Smelter and Refinery facilities
  • Extensive experience and knowledge of maintenance execution, including preventive work, component replacement, condition monitoring and troubleshooting of Smelting and Refinery assets
  • Extensive experience of successfully leading Continuous Improvement initiatives
  • Extensive experience managing maintenance and reliability organizations
  • Strong knowledge of Asset Life Cycle management, including financial and supply aspects
  • Strong knowledge of Production, Asset Performance and Work Management metrics
  • Very strong analytical and complex problem solving skills
  • Very strong presentation and communication skills to provide clear and concise recommendations to all levels of the organization
  • Training in Health and Safety Fatal Risk Management process and systems
  • Training in Maintenance Procedures for Smelting and Refinery equipment
  • Training in Root Cause Failure analysis methodologies
  • Experience in complex and large scale RCFAs and FMEAs
  • Experience in process mapping, modeling, and performance measurement
  • Experience in SAP Maintenance modules
  • Knowledge of predictive maintenance technologies such as vibration, ultrasonic and infrared analysis
  • Familiarity with Finite Element Analysis
  • Skilled in the development of Asset Performance Metrics
  • Skilled with software tools (SAP, Business Objects, MS Project)
  • Ability to learn and adopt new technologies
  • Ability to travel both internationally to our operations abroad and domestically within the U.S.
  • Ability to travel at least 30% of the work schedule for regular site support functions
