Job Description
  • This is a senior medical officer role that requires strong leadership skills, expertise in clinical care, and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, collaborating with other healthcare professionals, and contributing to the development of healthcare policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Mandatory requirements include a relevant tertiary degree qualification and current registration as a Medical Practitioner with the Medical Board of Australia.
  • Appointment as a Rural Generalist SMO will require one or more of the following advanced skills: Adult Internal Medicine, Paediatrics, Emergency Medicine, Remote Medicine, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health, Mental Health, Palliative Care, Small Town General Practice, Population Health, Academic Practice, with Anaesthetics or Obstetrics considered.
  • Appointment as a Provisional Fellow Rural Generalist SMO will require one or more of the following advanced skills: Adult Internal Medicine, Paediatrics, Emergency Medicine, Remote Medicine, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health, Mental Health, with Anaesthetics or Obstetrics considered.
  • A Class C Motor Vehicle Licence is also required.
