We are seeking Disability Support Workers to join our team in providing in-home support for clients/NDIS participants with complex mental and other health issues. As a valued member of our team, you will provide enthusiastic, caring, compassionate, and respectful support with personal care and domestic duties.

This role is initially offered on a casual basis, with opportunities for Permanent Part-Time positions based on performance.

Qualifications
  • Hold an Individual Support (Disability) Certificate III or higher.
  • Have experience working with people with disability who have support needs, particularly those with mental health issues.
  • Previous skills and qualifications in medication assistance and/or administration (HLTHPS006 - Assist Clients with Medication).
  • Demonstrate understanding of incident reporting, quality documentation, complaints handling, and complex behaviour strategic support.
  • Demonstrate a positive attitude.
  • Own a vehicle with comprehensive insurance and willingness to use it for work purposes.
  • Current CPR & First Aid Certificate.
  • Current Open Drivers Licence.
  • Current Blue Card and NDIS Worker Screening Card.
  • Assist Client with Medication Certificate HLTHPS 006 is highly recommended.
  • Experience with Dementia Clients, Positive Behaviour Support, and Epilepsy would be advantageous.
  • NDIS Worker Orientation Module and NDIS Supporting Safe and Enjoyable Meals are beneficial.

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Work with male and female NDIS participants with a range of mental disabilities.
  • Support and mentor participants to increase their independence.
  • Support participants to engage in community-based activities.
  • Model and encourage appropriate social behaviours as necessary.
