Advanced Drug and Alcohol Clinician

The Clinical Nurse Consultant (D&A) plays a pivotal role in the Emergency Department, leading comprehensive drug and alcohol assessments in collaboration with mental health clinicians. This involves working closely with mental health clinicians, peer workers, and community stakeholders to ensure seamless care coordination before discharge, aiming to enhance patient outcomes.
This key clinical expert is responsible for delivering evidence-based practice, providing education and management guidance to healthcare professionals, contributing to research, and offering professional leadership. The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of drug and alcohol issues, as well as experience working with complex patients and carers with a Dual Diagnosis.
Key qualifications include excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. In addition, the ideal candidate should possess strong analytical skills, be able to prioritize tasks, and demonstrate a high level of professionalism.
