Job Title: Educational Support Specialist

At our school, we are seeking a dedicated and dynamic Educational Support Specialist to join our Student Services team. This role will play a pivotal part in fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting student wellbeing and promoting positive behavior across the school. Key responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring consistent implementation of our Behaviour Management Policy
  • Working collaboratively with teaching staff to engage students in making positive behavior choices
  • Championing and promoting our Positive Behaviours Framework, helping to embed it into the daily life of the school
  • Building strong, respectful relationships with students, supporting their social and emotional development
  • Overseeing and leading management of students with identified special needs and working in conjunction with relevant staff to ensure appropriate support is put in place
  • Monitoring student attendance and taking appropriate action to improve student attendance, including referral to other agencies and regional office personnel
  • Communicating effectively with students, staff, and families providing increased student engagement, pathways, and wellbeing

Eligibility

To work with us, you must:

  • Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident, or have a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment
  • Hold registration with the relevant board
  • Obtain a valid Working With Children Check before starting
  • Consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by our unit before starting
