The Talent International team is seeking a skilled Disability Support Worker to join our client's team in Parramatta. As a Disability Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing professional support to individuals with disabilities, promoting their independence, skill development, and community engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide person-centred support to individuals with disabilities, promoting their independence and skill development.
- Offer behaviour and communication support to residents, encouraging the development of personal, community, and social relationships.
- Support residents in maintaining independence and safety in personal care, health care, and hygiene.
- Collaborate with residents, their families, carers, advocates, and other support staff to develop programs aimed at achieving individual goals and aspirations.
- Undertake routine tasks such as cleaning and washing to support the efficient functioning of the household.
- Utilise corporate systems to record information accurately, including workplace risks and incidents.
- Perform the role of key worker as required, leading the client lifestyle planning process to formalise client goals and aspirations.
Requirements:
- Experience in disability support or a related field.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment.
