This is a role that involves teaching and clinical supervision of students. The successful candidate will have experience in providing best practice clinical and educational support to clinical supervisors.
Key Responsibilities:- Teaching: Provide high-quality education to psychology students, including developing educational materials, facilitating interprofessional learning opportunities, and offering academic counselling.
- Research: Maintain own expert knowledge and skills in clinical psychology, contribute to research in rural health, publish and present research findings, and implement new clinical techniques.
- Promoting Partnerships and Community Service: Foster partnerships with other organizations, engage in internal and external service roles, provide support to colleagues, and uphold university values.
- Applicants should hold a tertiary degree in Psychology and have at least 3 years of recent practice experience as a Psychologist.
- The ideal candidate will have demonstrated expertise in clinical education of psychology students.
- Sound knowledge of interprofessional education, collaboration, and practice or the ability to rapidly acquire and disseminate such knowledge is highly valued.
- Highly developed interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills are essential for this role, along with the ability to negotiate and work consultatively.
- Independence, initiative, and autonomy are key requirements, as is the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues.
- A commitment to research activities and willingness to participate in rural health research are expected.
- Establishing relationships and representing academic disciplines at a university and wider community level, including industry, government, and professional bodies, is an important aspect of this role.
- Experience in rural and/or Indigenous health issues and/or rural health education and training is desirable.
- Ability to travel, when required, is necessary.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to make a positive impact on the education of our students and the future of regional healthcare in Queensland.
