Medical Administrative Assistant Opportunity

This is a fantastic chance to work in a small team of friendly and team-oriented staff in a busy, modern gastroenterology practice based at St Vincent’s Private Hospital Northside in Brisbane.

The practice prioritizes excellence in care for patients, and we are seeking an experienced Medical Receptionist to assist with high-volume incoming phone calls, manage patient bookings and appointments, and perform general administrative tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Answering incoming phone calls and assisting with enquiries
  • Managing patient bookings and appointments, including meet and greet, point-of-care billing, and receipting
  • Booking procedural lists, including liaising with hospitals, other medical specialists, and referring doctors
  • General administration, including updating patient records, attaining relevant documents, and managing incoming/outgoing correspondence
  • Timely and accurate communication with Practice doctors

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Good organisational skills with the ability to multitask
  • Able to work efficiently with a high level of accuracy
  • Sound computer skills, preferably with familiarity using GENIE medical software, including receiving and sending electronic documents
  • Reasonable medical receptionist experience (preferably a minimum of 1 year)
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills

Work Environment: In-person
Job Type: Part-time, Permanent
Pay Rate: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
Roster: Rotating
