About Us

Ngala Community Services is a dynamic organization committed to providing exceptional care and support to children and families.

We are seeking an experienced Kitchen Operations Specialist to join our team on a Casual (as required) basis. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of quality, service, and presentation of meals, as well as maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our kitchen facilities.

The Role:

  • Cooking and preparing meals according to our menu, showcasing your culinary skills and creativity;
  • Stock and produce shopping, ordering, and rotation, utilizing your knowledge of inventory management;
  • Plating up and delivery of meals to children's rooms, prioritizing presentation and attention to detail;
  • Monitoring and recording food temperatures, adhering to strict food safety protocols;
  • Ensuring awareness of children's requirements and allergies, tailoring meal preparation accordingly;

What We're Looking For:

  • A Qualification in Commercial Cookery or Certificate III in Early Childhood, demonstrating your expertise in food preparation and safety;
  • Familiarity with HACCP principles and food safety practices, including allergen training;
  • Sound knowledge of special dietary requirements and food allergies, allowing you to cater to diverse needs;
  • Experience working autonomously in a kitchen environment, leveraging your organizational skills;
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, enabling you to build strong relationships with colleagues and stakeholders;
  • Self-motivation and initiative, driving results-oriented performance and continuous improvement;
  • A high level of attention to detail, ensuring precision and quality in all aspects of your work;
  • A Current Working with Children Check and National Police Clearance, verifying your suitability for this role;
