Job Title: Senior Manager, Information Governance


About the Role:


This is a high-impact role that requires a strategic leader with expertise in privacy, data governance, and management. The successful candidate will lead the development and implementation of frameworks that shape how Victoria University manages and protects its data.



  • Lead the implementation and continuous improvement of VU's Information and Data Governance Framework.
  • Serve as the primary contact for privacy enquiries, complaints, and incidents.
  • Develop and deliver privacy training and resources for University leaders.
  • Drive strategic alignment and oversight through the Data Governance Committee.
  • Collaborate with Indigenous units to embed Indigenous Data Sovereignty principles.

About You:


We are looking for an experienced professional who has a deep understanding of privacy legislation and Indigenous Data Sovereignty. The ideal candidate should be able to influence senior stakeholders and drive enterprise-wide initiatives.


Your Key Responsibilities:



  • Implement and improve VU's Information and Data Governance Framework.
  • Provide expert advice on privacy matters.
  • Develop and deliver training programs for University leaders.
  • Oversee the Data Governance Committee.
  • Collaborate with Indigenous units.
